The Design Process

Here at Bella Stationery Studio I am all about simplifying the wedding planning process by offering all your stationery needs within the one place. If you are unsure how to best capture the styling of your celebration, I would love to help in bringing all your details to life!

Your stationery adventure begins with an email where I invite you to share a little about yourselves and the celebration you want to create. I will be here to answer all your stationery questions and discuss how we can capture your wedding styling on paper.

step 1. consider your stationery pieces

What paper pieces would you like to incorporate into your wedding stationery suite? Are there important details you need to share with your guests in the lead up to your day?

In addition to the invitation and envelope you may like to consider a reply card, an information card (for location details, travel and accommodation suggestions, pre and post wedding celebrations), a wishing well/gift registry card, a belly band to bundle all these pieces together and personalised address labels.

Wedding day stationery pieces may include (but are not limited to) ceremony programs, signage (both big and small), a guest seating chart, escort cards, table number cards, place card settings, menus, favour tags and thank you cards.

step 2. calculate the quantity of each

How many invitations will you be sending? Don't go by the number of guests on your list, but by the number of addresses. Couples and families at the same address will need just one invitation between them.

It's also a wonderful idea to have a small bundle of invitations on hand should you miss someone from your guest list (it does happen!) or spell a name incorrectly. These will arrive with room for you to handwrite guests names if need be and can also be kept as a lovely reminder of your wedding day.

Rest assured these details can easily be revised as we work through the design process, but makes for the perfect starting point in providing you with a quote.

Step 3. quotation and Timeline

After sharing your ideas, inspiration and stationery must haves, I will present you with a detailed package and design timeline. This will be delivered to your inbox just a few short days following our initial conversation.

To proceed with your stationery package a 50% deposit is required which will secure your spot in my design schedule. Now is the time to send through your invitation or stationery wording in the form of an email, written to reflect the style and tone of your celebration.

Step 4. The Designing Begins!

You will receive your initial concepts in digital format via email. I will work with you both until you are head over heels with each and every element of your stationery suite. A select number of alterations will be included within your stationery package, allowing for wording, design, colour and layout changes to be made. Further changes made beyond this point will incur an additional design fee which will be quoted to you.

Invite a fresh pair of eyes to look over the final design and once you are ready to proceed, send through your whole-hearted approval in the form of an email. The remaining balance of your stationery package is due at this point, together with your guest list if you choose to have your invitations personalised with your guest’s names.

Step 5. printing and postage

Upon receiving the final balance your stationery will make its way onto paper. Each piece will be cut to size, hand assembled and carefully packaged – ensuring your parcel arrives in the same condition it leaves my studio.

This process will take two to three working weeks before being placed in the hands of the postman. All parcels are sent with the added features of online tracking, insurance and a signature upon delivery for peace of mind. Within 2-6 business days your stationery will arrive on your doorstep (for delivery within Australia). Now to address your envelopes, adhere postage stamps and send your invitations out to your guests!

Step 6. The Finishing Touches

If you are short on time or admittedly don’t have the prettiest of hand writing, let’s collaborate to make sure every little detail is taken care of. Coordinating postage stamps can be suggested, a return address stamp can be carved and a calligrapher can be booked to address each envelope in a lettering style best suited to your stationery.
